spacer residency:

Dear Friends and lovers of imagination, creativity, and curiosity,

The eeg-cowles Foundation is very pleased to announce that we are now offering artist residencies in Charente-Maritime (France).

Residencies are open to artists in dance, theatre, music, and writing. To apply, you simply have to submit a letter to us with your CV and a description of your project.

You also need to note your ideal dates for the residency with a second choice as well in case the calendar is already full. Although we are flexible, residencies generally last from one to two weeks.

The location of the residency is deep in the countryside. It's a rural farming area, midway between Royan, Saintes and Rochefort. One has to be totally autonomous so a car is necessary. The nearest village with shops and a café is about 7kms away.

There is a lived-in main house with a guesthouse for the residencies. The guesthouse has 2 bedrooms, each with a double bed and its own bathroom plus a mezzanine with 2 single beds that can also be put together to make a double bed.

There is a fully equipped kitchen area that is part of the small living room, which also has a fireplace.

In the garden there is a small dance studio measuring 45m2. Therefore the residencies are most suitable for a small number of people, from 1 to 3.

There is no charge for the guesthouse or the studio, nor for internet, electricity, or heating. Unfortunately we cannot offer a stipend for food, gas, transportation, or travel expenses so these need to be part of your own budget.

Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have, but especially, do send us your letter requesting a residency. (info@eeg-cowlesfoundation.org)

You are welcome to share this information with other artists who you think might be interested.

All best,

Lila Greene, president
